Zol
gently gestured with one hand in the direction of the enigmatic mosaic of
silver and blue lines on the wall. I didn't want to interrupt him by asking him
what it was, especially now with the time pressure. I'll ask my friends on the
way out, I thought.
'It
is the Map of Change, Jordan. Xendo
and Solari will give you a brief overview on your way out. Everything changes. Not
only does everything change and return to energy, moment by moment, to
formlessness, to the implicate order, including your hologram body, not only
that, but at the same time, nothing ever disappears; it merely changes its
disguise. And as if that weren't miraculous enough, everything in existence is unique,
inimitable, down to the last leaf, snowflake, or grain of sand! Everything changes, my son, everything, except
the first Five Laws.'
He raised his arms out and we hugged. As a warm, golden
stream of joy flowed down my spine, I could hear him say:
'Go in peace, Jordan. And
remember, shift to the reality you love, because if you don't, you will keep getting
the reality you don't love. Isn't it
funny that most people in Atlantis wonder why they keep getting the reality
they don't love?'
He laughed. Then he suddenly said: 'Oh,
Jordan, one last thing!'
'Yes?'
'Don't
open the envelope until you are home. In Atlantis! OK?'
As we were leaving the
Temple, Xendo and Solari stopped at the square mosaic on the wall.
'This is a map of Law
Six, Jordan. We call it The Map of Change.
How does one event, how does one phenomenon change from one state in another? You
can determine this intuitively by knowing the Map of Change. On might also describe it as an oracle. To predict
the so-called future, one must understand the present. Some of our elders come
here to the Temple every morning to contemplate the Map of Change. Most of them are curious to know how change will
affect the lives of their children and grandchildren. To understand the Map of Change, you need to go within and
experience deep stillness, the source of all pure potentiality. Close your eyes and take a
deep breath. Now approach the wall until you can touch it. That's it. Spread
out your two arms like wings. Good. Deep breath through the nose. Hold. Each of
the sixty-four gwa on the Map of Change on the wall is now within
reach of your touch by either hand. OK? Good.
Now exhale slowly. Eyes closed. With the index-finger of your left hand, touch
the wall.'
I did so.
'Now
you are touching a gwa. Take a slow, deep,
deep breath. Good. Hold. Now exhale slowly, very slowly through the nose. Good.
Open your eyes but keep your finger on the line.'
The square of six lines comprised three
straight silver lines on top and three broken lapis lazuli lines below them,
all beautifully set in relief. My finger was resting in the middle of the bottom
broken line. Solari stood beside me and placed the tips of her five fingers
softly on another gwa which was actually
similar to mine except that the bottom line was straight and silver, not broken
and blue like mine.
We
bowed to Zol at the upper end of the temple who stood there smiling, gently
waving goodbye.
Outside
the Temple gates, Xendo told me that, based on the gwa of the Map of Change,
some challenging times were ahead of me in Atlantis. It was important me for to
persevere and not to be afraid. He said it was a time of immobility, of
standstill.
'Is
there anything I should be doing about it? I mean, will I know what it is I should
persevere with?'
'We have spoken about the illusion
of time. To prepare for what you call the future, all you need to do is remain
in the present. Persevere. It is important to follow your heart, not your head.'
'Standstill is pretty
negative isn't it?'
'There is no positive or negative,'
he explained. 'What you call negative is necessary to create what you call
positive. Remember, it is the Map of Change. Everything changes.'
'Except for the first Five
Laws!'
'Even the gwa you choose can lead to change,'
added Solari, 'the one you chose changed from that of Standstill to that of the Unexpected.
When the time comes for decisive action, Jordan, you must persevere. If you
cannot persevere, it is better to withdraw. That's what the two gwa are saying to you.'
'Phew. Can you be any more specific than
that, Solari?'
'I wish I could, Baby. The Map of Change is just that, a map, a road-map, not a road. When we
understand it intuitively, we can make the correct intuitive choices when we
are at a crossroads in life. We read it with our heart.'
I walked with my guides
in a daze along Dream Street all the way back to the Welcome Hotel. We hugged
each other one last time. As they left me and entered their vehicle, I looked
down and saw, in my state of elation, that I was walking on air.
The
small aircraft lifted off in silence with the two teenagers inside, waving goodbye. In an instant, it shot into the blue sky and
disappeared.
I could hear the hush of the sea and turned
to walk away from the hotel in the direction of the sound. The dreamy meadows graced
with cascades of multi-coloured wildflowers in the summer breeze led to a row
of spectacular, sheer cliffs facing the calm, turquoise ocean of Lemuria. Apart
from the narrow path, there was no trace anywhere here of the rude intrusion of
civilisation such as you'd see at the cliff edges at home as you brace the
sharp, wet wind blowing in from the cold Atlantic, signposts with emergency
help numbers for those tempted to jump, signs you'd see everywhere nowadays on
railway station platforms or in the Underground. I lay on my stomach to peer over the
cliff-edge, comforted by the fantasy that if I slipped and fell over, an eagle
would swoop to my rescue, or deeper down, a dolphin would leap up from the blue
to save me. Sitting up, staring out into the endless ocean, my legs dangling
over the cliff-edge, I reflected on my life-changing visit to Lemuria.
